Ross Mackinnon

Ross' background as an athlete and Division One collegiate swimmer established a robust foundation for his career as a coach, group exercise instructor and personal trainer. Fitness has enriched his life both physically and mentally, and he believes that everyone can benefit from a balanced lifestyle that includes proper nutrition, strength training, and cardiovascular conditioning. Since graduating from the University Of Maryland College Park, he has pursued a career in personal training and coaching swimming. He thoroughly enjoys working with clients of all ages and ability levels--from age 3 to age 93. He has also competed in triathlons for the past 20 years and taught triathletes in both private and small group settings.

Ross has a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland and certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine CPT, Functional Movement Screen Level 1 and 2, TRX Foundations, Madd Dog Spin and Kettlebells. He is constantly pursuing new knowledge and skills in order to provide his clients with optimal programs based on the newest research. Ross feels that functional training is integral to wellbeing and longevity and, therefore, his programming focuses on a blend of power, strength, cardio conditioning and flexibility with the goal of making his clients strong and resilient throughout their lives.
